Watonga Hospital Foundation welcomes you to

Roman Nose Hills Trail Ride

The Roman Nose Canyon, home of Roman Nose State Park, has long
been used by equestrian lovers as one of Northwest Oklahoma’s most
scenic destinations. Limited trails are offered within the Park, and we’ll
take you across the canyon system to many beautiful sites. Many local land owners have cooperated to allow our guides to show you the best of the best!

If you did not take part in our last spring event, let us update you on how we are dedicated to making this ride a tradition for our area.

Base camp is at the entrance to Roman Nose State Park on the Wolfe Ranch. This is a large open field with drinking water and porta-johns for your use. You will see our large tents for eating and entertainment. You

A Friday evening ride will leave 6:30 for a one hour short ride for early birds. Friday night meal will be served from 7:00 until 9:30 as many arrive during this time. A full camp meeting will begin at 8:30 to introduce our staff and review our schedules and rules with everybody. At 9:00 P.M., Tony and Ann Cole will present a clinic full of information concerning trail riding, wilderness survival, and just plain horse sense!

Saturday will begin with Breakfast from 7:30-9:00. Multiple guided rides will leave every 30 minutes until needs are met. All riders will end up a Halfway Cafe, at our beautiful spring fed "Hidden Lake." Engorge yourself on fresh grilled hamburgers and sausages and relax in a very social environment. Many stated this made our event one of the best catered rides they have attended. This is also the grub stop for our horse drawn wagon rides.

Returning to base camp, the Saturday night brisket feast will begin by 6:30 and entertainment will continue until 9:00. Quiet time 10:00PM.

Sunday breakfast 7-9 will be accented with Cowboy Church at 8:00. Rides will begin at 8:30 and Lunch again will be offered to riders.

Riders are free to ride on the Wolfe Ranch Base Camp at anytime without a guide.
